La lettre d'Ines - Bonjour

13th August 2020 / Letter #251
Here we are !!!! By the water or in the garden, finally lounging! Here are some ideas to make these moments even more delicious. Sometimes it doesn't take much: the right towel, the pretty deckchair, a sunscreen that doesn't stick ... Little details that make the holidays even more enjoyable ... believe me!

The deckchair is an object that we are likely to see a lot in the coming weeks so it might as well be beautiful. After several tests, I finally came by this bamboo model. Unfortunately, it's no longer available at the moment, so I've found you a similar one in case you don't feel like waiting until mine is back in stock.

Once you have the right deckchair, you have to find the right towel. And the perfect one to lie down on is long enough otherwise either the feet or the head stick out and that is irritating, at least to me ... so I searched out like no one else and I found it! Ideal length, 2 meters! I found it only on Amazon, I know it's not that great, but I swear I've looked everywhere else. I took them in pink, but they come in a lot of different colors.

Don't tell me you've never found wet towels delicately lying in a pile by the pool... so to encourage a simple but effective gesture, I found this towel stand. And as it is quite pretty, I have high hopes it will be noticed and used! Besides, it goes with the deckchairs!

If it is not politically correct to forget your mask or hydroalcoholic gel on vacation, skipping sunscreens is not either. I hold fast to indices 50, as you might have guessed. So I always take my Avène sunscreens with me. This summer, my friend Dominique Lionnet, a great expert in the subject, introduced me to two new products which textures delight me. The first is Eau en Brume from Clarins, very protective and light and the second is a moisturizing mist from Esthederm Laboratories, which enhances the tan. You spray all over your body, without really spreading it, then you are well protected and not at all sticky. It does matter, right?

In my friend Éric Bergère's shop, I found this gorgeous hat, an absolutely essential accessory in summer. I take this opportunity to tell you that Eric Bergère has now 2 Dou Bochi stores in Arles! One at 16 rue Réattu and the other 11 rue des Suisses. And that's great news for those passing through the region!

My daughter Violette found a pair of sunglasses that I find absolutely beautiful! They come from Jacques Marie Mage (JMM for connoisseurs). They are so beautiful that they are sold out.... They are inspired by the model that Paul Newman wears in The Color of Money ... no less! Well, there is no billiards by the pool, but the glasses will still be fine!

The other day we were in the middle of a photoshoot and it was very hot. Delphine Courteille, a great hairstylist as you know, came up with an absolutely delicious drink, quite unexpectedly not at all intended for my hair but to quench our thirst! She told me it was very easy to make, so I begged for her recipe : wash (without shampoo!)and squeeze organic lemons and limes. Add crushed fresh mint, fresh water, ice cubes, grate the lemon rinds and leave them in the water. Not sure if it makes hair grow, but it seems to be very good for the skin. Ideal to drink by the pool, don’t you think?

Now that you are feeling comfortable on your pretty deckchair with your nice towel, well protected from the sun and suitably refreshed, all you need is the right book! So, I strongly recommend you the book Artists‘ Instagrams by Jean-Philippe Delhomme who imagined what the great masters of Modern Art could have posted on Instagram if it had existed at the time. It's very funny, very subtle and I love his black & white drawings (I love all of his drawings in general by the way).

For next week, I thought I might give you a little help in the kitchen. Well, when I say "I", that's a way of speaking ... because I mainly intend to call on some good friends who are much more gifted than me in this area, if you know what I mean! So I wish you a good week and look forward to next Thursday!
