Obviously and given the weather forecast, we should be talking about puffer, raincoats and warm underwear. But since I saw the movie Little Women ("Les Filles du Docteur March" in French), I want to dress like Jo, Beth, Meg and Amy March. I find everything delightful: the dresses, the large skirts, the ultra feminine blouses, the overlays of materials and prints... So I tried to find some clothing along the same style that wouldn’t make you look as if coming out of a movie in period costumes...

Yes, I know, it’s not the perfect weather for dresses, we ‘d rather wear jeans than tights, but when you see this dress spotted at Masscob, you will understand that it is impossible to wait till next summer. The details are so lovely that it looks like a vintage dress. And you won't even be cold if you wear it with woolen tights and a warm cardigan.

If you don't feel ready for a dress, you can try the skirt. It must be ample and rather long. I found an absolutely lovely one in cotton embroidered with black thread at Swildens. You can wear it this winter with a big sweater and ankle boots and keep it for this summer, a definitely profitable purchase. I also found this khaki skirt, well ok, at first sight it's not necessarily my style, but I found it so lovely that I fell for it. And I was right cause now I can show it to you !

Winter, summer, day, night... |
|
Irresistible, of course ! |

Still at Masscob, I found a cute feminine and romantic blouse with lace at the collar and cuffs and another one at Àcheval Pampa with puffed sleeves and lace inlays. It looks like a blouse that Marilla could wear in the Anne with an « e » series, another inexhaustible source of inspiration.

Well, if you are not ready to be freezing in a dress or a skirt, you can also wear these little blouses with corduroy pants like the ones I design with Uniqlo and which have a small buckle in the back, quaint little detail. Or even the one from Erl which is very simple but exists in pretty colors. You will also find trousers in smooth velvet with fine stripes in my shop. And since they are wide and straight, they will also go very well with pretty blouses.

Directly inspired by the film and in particular Jo March character played by Saoirse Ronan, the waistcoat goes with everything: skirts and pants. I love them in all materials: tweed, smooth or ribbed velvet, printed cotton or not, or even in gabardine like the one Diane Keaton wears in Annie Hall (I know, it's not really the same time, but that's good too !)

For a slightly more “boyish” version, the dungarees are perfect ! They can also be worn with blouses or large shirts. The one from Swildens is lovely: I love the color and the little flower fabric inlays inside. It's stylish !

All these looks have to be worn with thick socks of course. I like them long and in cashmere, I know... it's my little luxury ! But you can also find some in wool at Kerstin Adolphson where you will also discover the essential accessory of this letter, namely, a pair of clogs, in natural leather for example, which will age divinely well. And then, once again, my favorite Bonpoint boots (which unfortunately don't exist anymore, but I'm showing them to you for inspiration) will also go perfectly well with all these clothes.

If, like me, you are fond of the looks from a movie, then Spotern website tries to find you some similar clothes to buy. In short, the Shazam of fashion! Well, since the idea is brilliant, I had to tell you about it, but the site is not yet fully developed, they still have a few small steps to make…

|
Almost... |
|
Uh... ??!! |
|
That’s the idea... |

I'll tell you more about this style that I love in future letters, that’s for sure. But for next week, I still have to find you some sweaters to make sure you don't catch a cold... Have a wonderful week and see you next Thursday !
