Septembre 16, 2021 / Letter #308 |
At the start of the school year, we are a bit overwhelmed and rushing around! So, don’t tell me that you have already masterfully settled and tidied up everything, that all the children’s registrations have been made (after the health pass, did you think of the Imagine R pass?), and that you have seen all your friends: ‘So, how was your vacation?! ’, and done all your back-to-school meetings:’ what about a short debrief for a good start?’, or planned all the appointments with the doctor, pediatrician, dentist… Rhoooo what a mess! You may easily imagine that this letter will by no means be organised then, impossible ! |

First of all, you have to tidy up, it helps to start the year off right! You’ll see, it’s very rewarding and your ideas will necessarily be clearer. The secret? New material that makes you want to classify & order: boxes, wooden drawers, display cases, binders, cardboard folders, labels… Arghhh Marie Kondo, begone!

After this tidying up session, a bike ride is necessary. And to avoid any unpleasant surprise, I discovered that Cyclofix (you know, they come to repair your bike or your scooter right downstairs) in association with Paravol offers to mark your bike with a unique code, a bit like a plate registration number, so you can find it if you ever get stolen… All new bikes are now sold with this famous code, but now you can also do it with your old one. And for the modest sum of 19 €, Cyclofix comes wherever and whenever you want to stick this impressive sticker.

And when we talk about cycling, we often think of backpack, so I found this very pretty Hungarian brand which bags are inspired by Eastern European hikers from the ’70s (if that’s not true spotting!!!). They are illustrated in beautiful colours and most importantly they are all simple. They come in many sizes and different shapes. There are also bananas which are quite nice !

After the bike, the backpack, here comes the green delivery… how eco-friendly! L’intendance is a very nice site that offers bulk sales: food (fresh), cleaning products and even body articles. Brilliant idea: they also offer all kinds of jars which are worth € 1 when you buy them full. Deliveries are made… by bike, of course !

I found better than Deliveroo!Yes, I did! Plat de Résistance, created by Le Fooding during the confinement of March 2020, this site lists the good places (greengrocers, bakers, restaurants, wine merchants, grocers…) throughout France and gives you their mode of operation to take out orders. It is useful and necessarily good !

You like tea, and though you find tea bags easier than tea balls, strainers and other utensils, you don’t buy them ? Here is the solution: the little Monoprix fabric bag, reusable and therefore ultra green… Thank you who ?!

Eco-friendly obviously ! |

Next week, I have to go to Salon Maison & Objet, so in my next letter, I will undoubtedly give you a little report of my visit. In the meantime, I wish you a nice week and I look forward to seeing you next Thursday!
